The London Ice Sculpting Festival 2012 was held in Canary Wharf from Friday 13th January to Saturday 14th. I went down on Saturday just as the finishing touches were made to the doubles competition entries (the larger sculptures). A short while later the singles competition began with the contestants having only 90 minutes to complete their sculptures from a smaller block of ice. There was a dense crowd around the barriers which made it a challenge to get a good position!
