Website Design
I have experience with building websites, both dynamic and static, for a wide range of purposes. I am proficient in JavaScript, ASP and PHP for dynamic content. I am familiar with Access and MySQL databases and create pages conforming to XHTML 1.0 and CSS standards. The following are specific websites I have designed.

The University of Warwick Boat Club's website, created in summer 2004 and containing a large range of club documents. The site features a user login section, giving access to private downloads, updateable profiles and more. Feedback forms, dynamic JavaScript and extensive dynamic data from a MySQL database is used. A forum and picture gallery are also available.

The University of Warwick Roller Hockey Club's website, created in summer 2004 and features a custom-built design specifically tailored to the vast range of statistics that accompany hockey games, teams and their players. All dynamic information is read from a database and the site contains extensive graphic design by myself. A user login is available allowing club members to update their own profiles and even upload a picture. A secure administration section is also available to allow any member of the exec to perform routine maintenance on the site, ensuring it is always up-to-date. A forum and picture gallery are also available.

Customer Service Assistant at Wilkinson, Kingston - Helping customers while developing communication and teamwork skills.

Ice Marshal at Hampton Court Palace for PWR Events over Christmas periods, 2003/4, 2004/5 and 2005/6. I am first aid qualified and this job entailed ensuing that everyone on the ice rink was kept safe.

Upgrading, repairing and troubleshooting computer systems for clients. I have knowledge of both hardware and software, gained from experience and a general interest in the subject.

Positions of Responsiblity

Prefect at Hampton School - Leadership and communication skills are an important part of being a prefect.

Cadet Corporal in the RAF section of the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) - This role required leadership, teamwork and communication skills, and places emphasis on being reliable, punctual and smart.

I was in the Ground Training Competition (GTC) team for 3 years running. GTC is a competition held by the RAF for cadet contingents across the country, and tests cadets in a wide range of activities including Drill, Shooting, Trim Trail (physical), Command Tasks, First Aid and Aircraft Recognition. In 2000/2001 we won the regional competition and progressed to the final to come 6th nationally. In 2002/2003 I lead the Shooting team. We won the regional competition and came 2nd nationally. The team was invited to RAF Cranwell for Air Squadron Trophy day in recognition of this.

Achievements

Academic

Myself and my ELMP project at YEDA

4th place nationally in the 18-25 age category at the Young Electronic Design Awards finals in London, June 2003, for my Embedded Linux Mp3 Player. This is a national event for young people aged 12-25 and sponsored by some of the leaders in the electronics industry.
This project was my A2 Technology coursework. More information can be found here.

I received the Parents' Association Prize for Original Work from the Hampton School Parents' Association for my work on the Old Hamptonians' Database website.
